This is a Heckler & Koch HK53 machine gun, a compact and powerful firearm that was developed from the HK33 rifle platform The HK53 was designed to provide a weapon that combined the compactness of the MP5 with the heavier punch of a 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge. It was in service with the German Army until it was replaced by the HK G36K in the early 2000s. The HK53 weighs approximately 3.05 kg (6.7 lbs) and has a length of 755 mm (29.7 in) with the stock extended. It operates on a roller-delayed blowback system and fires the .223 Remington (5.56×45mm NATO) cartridge. The rate of fire is approximately 700 rounds per minute. This particular HK53 is a fixed stock transferable machine gun purchased in the early 1990s. It is in great condition with minimal wear, indicating that it has been well-maintained over the years.
